Fourth Dog Meat Farm Closure of 2015

Change For Animals Foundation and Humane Society International have rescued 26 dogs and puppies from a dog meat farm in South Korea, marking our fourth such dog farm closure and rescue operation this year.

All the dogs have been successfully transported to partner shelters in the U.S. where they will find their forever homes.

Lola Webber, CFAF’s Programmes Director, said: “Housed in cold, filthy, barren cages, the 26 dogs on this small-scale dog meat farm were living miserable lives. Thankfully, we were able to intervene before the farm expanded after the farmer expressed a change of heart. Dog farm closures like this offer hope, and it is a great privilege to be able to end the dog meat industry for those individual animals whenever we can. Soon, these dogs will know what love, warmth and freedom feel like, and that means the world to all of us at Change For Animals Foundation.”

CFAF will continue to follow the farmer’s progress as he transitions to a humane, non-animal business. We will also assist with the demolition of the farm cages to make sure that they are never again places of animal suffering.

CFAF is committed to ending the dog meat industry in South Korea and we will not stop until the cruelty has ended.
