In 2020 we will continue to work on difficult issues but with difficult issues come difficult choices

2019 was the year we continued to lobby for the Indonesian Government to fulfil its pledge to end the cruel dog and cat meat trades, while at the same time rescuing animals from slaughter and giving them the lives and respect they deserve.

In 2019, following our survey of over 1,200 zoos and aquariums around the world, we launched a global campaign calling on those in power to effect real change to end the exploitation of wildlife in cruel and demeaning animal-visitor interactions, performances and activities.

In 2019, not only did we continue to lobby for legislative change for wildlife in captivity that would safeguard their welfare and end their exploitation, we also launched new partnerships and campaigns, and secured the rescue and rehabilitation of thousands of animals from the illegal wildlife trade.
