Learning About Animals (LAA)

Learning About Animals (LAA) was set up in 2006 to promote interest in the welfare and behaviour of animals. LAA's aim is to bridge the gap between professionals/animal behaviour scientists and pet owners.

Although the UK is considered a nation of animal lovers there are limited opportunities for people to learn more about their pets and other animals. Sadly, most of the available information for pet owners is through TV programmes and magazine articles, of which content is often inaccurate and presented by people with no relevant qualifications or expertise. Even those people who work with animals professionally sometimes struggle to find opportunities to continue to learn and keep up- to- date with new information and research. LAA therefore organises educational events for pet owners and professionals where attendees can learn and share information and experiences.

LAA also provides consultancy for various animal welfare projects and specialises in equine behaviour.
