3,175 illegally caught birds are confiscated and released back into the wild

The Lampung Agriculture Quarantine Center, assisted by our partners at FLIGHT, confiscated 3,175 illegally-caught birds which were destined for Java’s cruel and dirty live animal markets.
After health checks, those who survived the ordeal were released back into the wild the following day in the Pesawaran Forest Park.
In less than one month, from November 17thto December 10th, the quarantine authorities in Lampung and Cilegon have succeeded in intercepting the illegal smuggling of over 12,000 wild birds with the help of FLIGHT!
Change is coming and a strong message is being sent to the traders by the authorities: this cruel trade will not be tolerated!
